About the player
The 24 shirt is treated as taboo in the Brazilian game because of its association with a slur used against gay men. Aranha has kept wearing it at Palmeiras .
He arrived at the club in 2022 from the youth ranks of Sport Recife . The São Paulo state Sub-17 title came in his first year. In 2023 he won the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior and the state Sub-20 championship. The Brazilian Sub-20 national championship followed in 2025.
In July 2025 he signed his first professional contract, running to June 2029. Across the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons he did not play a single official match for the Palmeiras first team, and did not concede either.
Brazil called him up at Sub-17 level early on, and he became a regular in the Sub-20 setup through 2024 and 2025, including preparation for the 2025 Sub-20 World Cup in Chile. He featured in friendlies against Bolivia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
In June 2026 Palmeiras loaned him to Moreirense in Portugal for a season, until mid-2027, with a purchase option attached.
