About the player
Bilal Yalçınkaya was born in Hamburg, moving from FC Süderelbe to FC St. Pauli before joining Hamburger SV's academy in 2017. He worked his way through HSV's ranks and was training with the first team by the age of 16, though his senior football began two tiers below, with Hamburger SV II in the Regionalliga Nord.
His clearest moment in the game so far came with Germany's youth side rather than his club. He has also featured for Germany's U16, U18 and U19 teams, and holds Turkish nationality alongside his German one, though he has not been capped by Turkey.
Yalçınkaya left Hamburg for SC Verl on a free transfer after his contract at HSV expired, signing through 2028. He made his professional debut for the club in August 2026 and has made three league appearances in the fourth tier since then, still establishing himself away from the academy football that shaped him.
