Camilo Damián Cándido Aquino

Camilo Cándido came through Rampla Juniors, making 92 appearances before a loan to Argentina's San Martín brought no first-team minutes. His move to Liverpool of Montevideo in 2019 turned into the most productive spell of his career: 54 games and three goals from left-back, and a share in the club's Uruguayan Intermediate Tournament title that year.

Nacional signed him in 2021, and it was there that Cándido added a domestic championship to his record, winning the Uruguayan league in 2022 after 73 appearances and six goals in a Nacional shirt. He also collected back-to-back Uruguayan Super Cups with the club in 2020 and 2021. A loan spell at Bahia in Brazil followed in 2023, where he made 19 appearances.

Cándido moved to Mexican football in 2024, joining Cruz Azul, where he has made 15 appearances and scored once. His name is not fixed in Uruguay's national-team record books: one account has him called up in 2021 and named in the Copa América squad that year without playing, while the federation's official statistics list no caps for him at all.

The left-back's honours list has continued to grow away from Uruguay. With Atlético Nacional in Colombia, he won the Superliga title and the Copa Colombia in 2025, adding South American silverware to the trophies collected earlier in his career at Rampla Juniors, where he started out by winning the Uruguayan second division in the 2015/16 season.
