About the player
Bay FC signed Claire Hutton in a move that changed the picture at the club, taking her from Kansas City Current, where she had spent her entire senior career to that point. She had joined Kansas City Current in December 2023, at 17, becoming the first player in the league's history to sign through the Under-18 Entry Mechanism.
Hutton made her senior United States debut on 23 February 2025, in a SheBelieves Cup match against Australia. She has since become a regular presence in the national team setup, appearing 20 times and scoring once, against Canada in July 2025. In January 2026 she was named captain of the USWNT, the youngest player to hold that role since 2001.
At Bay FC, she now takes that same profile — a midfielder shaped by an unusually early entry into professional football and a fast rise through the national team — into a new dressing room.
