Charalambos Makridis

Charalambos Makridis grew up in Minden and started out at SV Kutenhausen-Todtenhausen and Union Minden before joining the SC Verl academy in 2012. He made his senior debut there in 2016, scoring four goals in 18 appearances.

At Gladbach he spent most of his time with the reserve side, where his scoring form stood out: 22 goals in 81 matches, including a stretch of 11 goals in 11 games that led Greek media to describe him, in October 2019, as the first Greek scorer in Europe. He finally made his first-team debut for Gladbach in the DFB-Pokal against Borussia Dortmund on 30 October 2019, though senior opportunities at the club remained scarce.

A free transfer took him to SSV Jahn Regensburg in 2020, where he became a regular fixture in the 2. Bundesliga, making 73 appearances and reaching the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals in the 2020/21 season. He later joined VfL Osnabrück in June 2023. In June 2024, Preußen Münster signed him for a fee of €50,000, and he has continued to feature regularly for the club since.

Despite his Greek heritage, Makridis has not represented Greece at international level. From the penalty spot, he has converted four of his five attempts.
