About the player
Rico Preißinger has changed clubs three times since 2018, and two of those moves carried no fee. The one that did was his switch from VfR Aalen to 1. FC Magdeburg in 2018, with the fee reported as €200,000. Two years later he left Magdeburg for FC Ingolstadt 04 on a free transfer. In 2023 he joined Preußen Münster from Ingolstadt on the same terms.
He began at 1. FC Stammbach and moved to 1. FC Nürnberg in 2008, staying in their youth system until 2015. He also played for Germany's youth sides. He won ten caps at U17 level, six of them in European Championship qualifying, and one more at U16.
His first senior football was with Nürnberg's second team in the Regionalliga Bayern, where he made 46 appearances and scored twice. At Aalen in the 3. Liga he scored six goals in 69 games. Magdeburg gave him 54 appearances and two goals, in a spell that took in both the 2. Bundesliga and the 3. Liga.
He played 58 times for Ingolstadt without scoring. The club finished 2022/23 as runners-up in the 3. Liga, and he moved to Münster in 2023. There he has made 77 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, again without a goal. His career total stands at more than 300 professional appearances.
