Claudio Bravo

Claudio Bravo shares his name with a far more famous compatriot who plays in goal for the Chilean national team, but the Argentinos Juniors defender has built a separate path entirely through his own country's game. Born in Lomas de Zamora, he came through trials at Vélez Sarsfield, Lanús and Los Andes before settling at Banfield, where he broke into professional football and made 49 appearances between 2016 and 2020.

That spell at Banfield opened the door to the Argentina under-23 setup, where Bravo made 8 appearances and won the 2020 CONMEBOL pre-Olympic tournament with the squad. He went on to represent Argentina at the delayed Tokyo Olympics, playing against Egypt and Spain in the group stage — international recognition that came before he had left South America.

Bravo then moved to Portland Timbers, where he spent five years from 2020 to 2025. On 3 July 2025 he returned to Argentina, joining Argentinos Juniors in a deal valued at around 850,000 euros. He made his debut for the club the same year and had featured in 10 matches by the end of the season.

Now wearing number 26 for Argentinos Juniors, Bravo remains a defender still adding to a career that has already taken him from the Buenos Aires trial circuit to an Olympic Games and back home again.
