Diego Porcel came through the Argentinos Juniors academy and never left, signing his first professional contract with the first team on 15 June 2024 after working his way up through the club's youth system. His competitive debut came on 16 April 2025 in the Copa Argentina against Central Norte, a match Argentinos won 3-0, and a week into the following month he made his first appearance in the Primera División, coming on against Barracas Central.

Porcel is a forward by trade, sometimes deployed on the left wing, and right-footed despite the flexibility that role demands. He wears the number 47 shirt at Argentinos Juniors, a detail that marks him out as one of the club's younger squad members rather than an established starter.

The clearest sign of his progress arrived in February 2026, when he scored in the Copa Libertadores against the Ecuadorian club Barcelona SC — his first goal of note in continental competition and, so far, the single moment that stands out in a career still being built. He has not yet won a trophy with the first team, picked up an individual award, or been called into the Argentina national side; his profile remains that of a home-grown player still adding to a short resume, one goal and two debuts into his time with the club he joined as a boy.
