Clément Lenglet

Lenglet came through the academy at Nancy, making 77 Ligue 1 appearances for the club between 2013 and 2017 before Sevilla signed him for €5.4 million. His performances there persuaded Barcelona to buy out his contract for €35.9 million in the summer of 2018, and he settled quickly enough to win the league title in his first season, adding the Spanish Super Cup and, later, the Copa del Rey.

His later years at the club were spent mostly away from it. When Barcelona and Lenglet agreed in June 2025 to terminate his contract by mutual consent, saving the club roughly €32 million, he returned to Atlético as a free agent and signed until 2028. A year later he moved on again, joining Benfica on loan with a mandatory obligation to buy that would keep him in Portugal through 2029.

For France, Lenglet scored on his debut, against Andorra in June 2019, and had won 16 caps by the middle of 2025. An ankle and knee injury picked up against Leganés in October 2024, while at Atlético, interrupted that spell in Spain.
