About the player
Dimitri Oberlin was born in Yaoundé and moved through Zürich's academy before making his first-team debut there in 2014/15. A year later Red Bull Salzburg signed him. Those titles came while he was mostly out on loan, at Liefering, then Altach, then Basel, rather than as a regular fixture in Salzburg's own side.
Basel made the move permanent in 2018, and Oberlin's spell there was again broken up by loans, to Empoli in Serie A and to Zulte Waregem in Belgium. A free transfer took him to Bayern Munich's reserve side in 2021, where a further loan sent him to Thun.
He then left for Turkey, joining Adanaspor in 2023, before returning to free-agent status and signing for Sepsi OSK in the summer of 2024.
At international level, Oberlin qualified for Switzerland through the youth ranks from under-15 level and earned a senior cap on 23 March 2018, in a friendly against Greece. It remains his only appearance for the national team.
