David Leonel Zalazar

David Zalazar left General Villegas as a teenager to join the youth ranks of Argentinos Juniors, where he came through the academy before signing his first professional contract in June 2020. He made his first-team debut in February 2022 and went on to make 24 appearances for the club, scoring twice, before Talleres bought a stake in his economic rights in January 2023.

Barracas Central took him first, in mid-2023. A move to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata followed in January 2024, and his time there could hardly have started worse: he suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee on his debut and needed surgery, missing six weeks of action.

A further loan took him to Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, where he made 12 appearances. In February 2026 he moved to Banfield, again on loan from Talleres, through the end of the year.

Zalazar has yet to be called up to the senior Argentina squad and has no individual honours to his name. His career so far has been defined less by where he is registered than by where he keeps being sent — a player Talleres holds the rights to but has still never used.
