About the player
Daniel Stensson returned to Djurgårdens IF in August 2024.
He left Djurgården for IF Brommapojkarna in 2014 and spent three seasons there before a loan spell at Assyriska FF. In 2018 he moved to Italy to join AC Mestre, a stint that lasted two seasons before he came back to Swedish football with Akropolis IF. Short spells at Dalkurd FF and GIF Sundsvall followed as he worked to establish himself.
The clearest form of that period came at IK Sirius, where he signed in July 2022. By 2023 he had been made captain of the side, a role he held through the following season before Djurgården brought him back for a fee of 7.5 million Swedish kronor. He signed a contract running to the end of 2027.
Stensson's only representative football came at youth level, with three appearances for Sweden's under-17 side in 2013. He has not featured for the senior national team.
