About the player
Danny Collinge left England for Germany as a teenager, joining VfB Stuttgart's academy in 2014 after his youth career at Milton Keynes Dons, where he had already made the first-team bench three times at the age of 15. Playing for the club's second team in the Regionalliga Südwest, he left by mutual consent in January 2019.
He returned to English football that summer with Colchester United, initially restricted to under-23 fixtures, and gained senior experience away from Colchester through loan spells at Maldon & Tiptree and AFC Sudbury. A free transfer took him to Dover Athletic in August 2021, where he spent a season before signing for Barnet on 1 July 2022, again on a free move.
Every switch in Collinge's career, from Colchester through Dover to Barnet, has come without a transfer fee changing hands. At Barnet, the centre-back was part of the squad that won the 2024–25 National League title, finishing with a record 102 points and securing promotion to League Two.
