About the player
David Abrangau's name has appeared with two spellings in club records, Abrangau and Abrangao, but on the pitch for FC Würzburger Kickers he has made himself known through a single moment. Playing in defence, the centre-back opened the scoring against 1. FC Köln in the DFB-Pokal, finding the net in the 18th minute of a match Würzburg ultimately lost 2:1. For a defender, a goal in a cup tie stands out on its own.
Abrangau wears number three for the Kickers in the 3. There is little else on the public record about his path into professional football or the clubs he came through before Würzburg, but the Köln goal has already given him a moment that stands apart from the routine of a defender's season.
