Diego Tarzia

Diego Tarzia came through Independiente's academy and made his name with the reserves before ever pulling on the first-team shirt. In 2023 he won the Copa Proyección with the club's reserve side, scoring in the 2-1 final victory over Tigre.

His senior debut came on 13 February 2024 in Primera División, when he was sent on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win over Rosario Central. He had to wait until August that year for his first goal at that level, netting in a 3-0 Copa Argentina win over Godoy Cruz. The following March, Independiente moved to tie him down with a new contract running to December 2027.

Despite that commitment, the move to Brazil arrived within a year. On 10 February 2026, Tarzia joined Vitória on loan, in a deal that gave the Brazilian club an initial 5-10% of his economic rights for 200,000 dollars and an obligation to buy the remaining 70-75% for between 2.3 and 2.6 million dollars by the end of the year. Independiente keeps the right to bring him back if that purchase option is not exercised.

He wasted little time settling in. Vitória won the Copa do Nordeste in 2026, and Tarzia was on the scoresheet in the first leg of the final, a 2-1 win over Fortaleza.
