About the player
Ten goals in 181 professional league matches is the record of a midfielder.
He came through the youth ranks at Hız Yayınları Marmara Kulübü before joining the Fenerbahçe academy in 2016. The first professional contract followed in December 2020, and his senior debut came in the same month, in the Turkish Cup. Playing time at Fenerbahçe did not follow. He was loaned to Tarsus İdman Yurdu in February 2021 and scored his first professional goal there the following month.
The move that settled him was Iğdır FK. He arrived on loan in January 2023, played fourteen matches in the 3. Lig as the club took the championship, and signed permanently that August. Iğdır went up again, to the 2. Lig and then the 1. Lig. Loaned to Vanspor FK for 2024–25, he made 38 appearances and scored four times, including two in a single match against Erbaaspor in March 2025 — the first double of his career.
Akcan joined Bursaspor in January 2026 on a free transfer, the club taking his full registration rights on a two-and-a-half-year contract to June 2028. He can be used as a central, defensive or attacking midfielder. In his first half-season at Bursaspor the club won the 2. Lig title and went up to the 1. Lig.
