Eber Caicedo

Eber Caicedo has moved clubs almost every year since his career began, but two moments define him more than any list of shirts. Aged 28, on loan at Orense SC, he scored a 93rd-minute goal against Manta FC that pushed the club up into Ecuador's top flight — the kind of strike that follows a player for years afterwards. He returns to Orense now, more than a decade after starting out in the Independiente del Valle academy in 2009.

Caicedo has spent most of his career in Ecuador's Serie B, winning it three times, in 2009, 2019 and 2020, spread across different clubs. He has also gone looking for work abroad, with spells in Montenegro, El Salvador and Bolivia, though a 2022 injury in Bolivia kept him out of a match for Real Tomayapo against Always Ready. His most productive scoring season on record came last year, in 2025, when he found the net 15 times in the league for Libertad FC.

He has never been capped by Ecuador's national team. At 35, and now back with Orense SC as a forward, Caicedo arrives with a reputation built less on any single club and more on the sheer number of shirts he has worn across Ecuador, the Balkans and Central America.
