About the player
Érick Daniel Sánchez Ocegueda was born in Gustavo A. Madero, in Mexico City, and joined Pachuca's academy in 2014. Two years later he made his first-team debut, coming on against Toluca in August 2016.
Between 2019 and 2020, Pachuca sent him on loan to Mineros de Zacatecas, playing in the Liga de Ascenso. He returned with 19 appearances and two goals from that spell.
He stayed with Pachuca before Club América completed his signing on 1 July 2024, with the move formally announced days earlier, on 28 June. The transfer was reported at a fee of nine million euros, and Sánchez signed a four-year contract running to 30 June 2028.
At international level, Sánchez has been called up to the Mexican national team. In a 2022 friendly against Germany, he scored a goal for Mexico, though the wider record of his caps and goals for the senior side is not fully documented in available sources.
