M. Vazquez

Miguel Vázquez came off the bench in the 87th minute of the 2024 Supercopa MX final against Tigres, a 2-1 win with Club América. It was a brief appearance, but it marked how far he had travelled from the reserve sides he had spent most of the previous two years in.

Vázquez started out in the Querétaro academy and moved into the first-team squad there in 2020. His stay was short. Early in 2021 he joined Atlético San Luis, and by 1 July that year he had signed for América.

The transition was not immediate. América placed him in their youth and reserve teams, where he played across the U20, U21 and U23 levels. He scored twice in four U20 matches in 2022/23 and five times in six U23 games the following season. His Liga MX debut for the senior side came in 2022/23, but through 2023/24 he was still mostly a reserve-team player.

That changed from 2024/25 onwards. He made 13 league appearances that season and 11 in 2025/26, with three so far in the current campaign.

Not every squad list has ended in silverware. Vázquez was named in the América side for the 2024/25 Campeón de Campeones final, which Toluca won 3-1. He also featured once in the 2022 Leagues Cup, a tournament Pachuca went on to win.
