Edwin Fabry Castro Barros

Fabry's career reads like a tour of leagues rather than a straight line: Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, Greece and back to Colombia before he found a home at Bucaramanga. He came through the Escuela Carlos Sarmiento Lora academy and had a spell with Quilmes' reserve side in Argentina before returning to South America to break into Deportivo Pasto's first team in 2013.

What followed was a decade of short stops abroad. A brief run with Guarani in Brazil gave way to two years in Spain with Rayo Majadahonda, then a move to Switzerland's Servette. The most settled period of his career came in Greece, where he spent three seasons with PAS Giannina and helped the club win the Super League 2 title in 2019–20, before a further year with Apollon Smyrnis.

He returned to Colombian football in 2022 with Deportivo Cali, and in January 2024 signed for Atlético Bucaramanga. It is there that he has found his longest run of regular football in years, passing 60 appearances for the club within his first season and a half. Across his career he has amassed well over 300 matches, a tally built almost entirely through free transfers rather than fees changing hands between clubs.

None of his moves brought individual honours, and he has not been called into a national team setup at any level. What stands out instead is the sheer breadth of the football he has taken in — a career built on adaptation to new leagues rather than on staying anywhere long enough to become a fixture, until Bucaramanga.
