About the player
Federico Medina spent twelve years working through Banfield's youth system before signing his first professional contract in March 2024, later extended into 2027. The academy graduate made his first-team debut in May 2024 against Gimnasia La Plata, a match Banfield lost 3-0, capping a path that began at the club at the age of seven.
To gain regular playing time, Banfield sent him on a season-long loan to Uruguay's Cerro Largo starting in December 2024. Medina made 21 appearances in the Uruguayan league and featured four times in the Copa Sudamericana as the club reached the competition's group stage.
He returned to Banfield at the end of 2025 and has since worked his way into rotation, appearing as a substitute in Argentina's top flight and in the Copa Argentina through the 2026 campaign, wearing the number 18 shirt.
