Frederick Issaka

He had joined Argyle's academy that year after coming through at Truro City.

He made a single appearance in 2021/22, then featured six times, including cup football, as Argyle won League One in 2022/23 and went up to the Championship — without adding a goal to his name that season. Involvement grew gradually rather than suddenly: eight matches in 2023/24, then a fuller campaign in 2024/25 with 19 league appearances and 20 in all competitions, in which he scored his first senior goal for the club, against Preston North End in October 2024. That season also brought a nomination for the EFL Championship's Apprentice of the Season award, though the honour went to Leeds United's Archie Gray.

After three appearances at the start of 2025/26, Issaka moved to Bristol Rovers on loan in September, playing nine times, seven of them in the league, before returning to Plymouth in January 2026. He had made 14 appearances and scored twice by the time this profile was compiled.

Issaka has represented England at Under-16 level and Wales from Under-17 through Under-21.
