Ronan Curtis

Ronan Curtis was born in Croydon but built his career in Irish football, breaking through at Derry City, where he scored 24 goals in 100 appearances before a move to England. That form took him to Portsmouth in 2018 for a fee in the region of £100,000, and he repaid it many times over: 226 appearances and 57 goals across five seasons made him the club's leading scorer of the century. He lifted the EFL Trophy with Portsmouth in 2018/19 and reached the same final the following season. His time on the south coast ended painfully. An anterior cruciate ligament injury against Bolton Wanderers in February 2023 derailed his final months at the club, and he left as a free agent that summer. After a season at AFC Wimbledon, where he scored five goals, Curtis signed for Port Vale in 2024. He became a regular over two seasons there, contributing seven league goals in 61 appearances and helping the club win promotion from League Two in 2025, before joining Plymouth Argyle in January 2026 on a contract running to 2028. At international level, Curtis represented the Republic of Ireland at under-21 level, where he was voted the age group's player of the year in 2018 and scored against Kosovo. His senior debut came in November 2018, as a substitute in a goalless friendly against Northern Ireland, and he has gone on to win seven caps.
