Guilherme Portuga

Guilherme Maciel Dantas began his career in Benfica's academy, and it was there that he picked up the nickname that has followed him ever since: Portuga. He returned to Brazil for his senior debut, playing for Barcelona-SP in 2016 before a spell with Juventude-SP's youth side.

A move to Grêmio in December 2019 promised more but delivered less: he was confined to the under-23 side and never made the first team, and a loan to Esportivo the following year passed without a single appearance. A switch to São Bernardo followed.

He joined Portuguesa in May 2024. A loan to Ponte Preta interrupted his first months there, but on his return he established himself as a regular for the club, and by August 2026 he had made 53 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and adding two assists.

His best return for Portuguesa came in the Copa Paulista, where he scored four goals in six matches in 2024. He has since become a fixture in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D squad, and in May 2026 he signed a contract extension with the club running to November 2027. Two months later he moved out on loan again, this time to Londrina.

Portuga has never received a call-up to any Brazil youth or senior side, and his career has been built not on a single defining moment but on steady accumulation across a long list of clubs.
