Jaime Alberto Alvarado Hoyos

Alvarado's career has run mostly through other people's academies and other people's shirts. Born in Santa Marta, he came up through Udinese's Colombian academy before moving to Watford in 2016, spending six months on loan in Granada's youth system, and signing his first professional contract with the English club in 2017.

What followed was five years of loans rather than first-team football at Watford itself. Real Valladolid Promesas gave him the heaviest workload of that spell, 27 appearances between 2017 and 2018, before spells at Hércules CF and CF Badalona in Spain and a season at Athletico Paranaense in Brazil. A loan to Racing Ferrol in 2021 never produced a single first-team appearance.

He returned to Colombia in 2022 with Fortaleza C.E.I.F., where he found a level of regular football he had rarely had in Europe, 39 matches and four goals. That form led to a three-year move to Independiente Medellín in December 2022, on an undisclosed fee, where he became an established squad player, making 124 appearances over three seasons.

Since 1 January 2026 he has been out on loan again, this time at Once Caldas, where he wears the number 15 shirt and has made 12 appearances so far.
