About the player
Jackson Ragen's path to Seattle Sounders ran through a club he never played for. Chicago Fire selected him in the third round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, but he did not sign there, instead joining Tacoma Defiance. The following year Chicago traded his rights to Seattle for a draft pick.
Before turning professional, Ragen came through the Seattle United and Sounders academy setups, then spent four seasons playing college football for Michigan.
He made his Sounders debut in 2022 and, in that first season, lifted the CONCACAF Champions Cup and featured at the FIFA Club World Cup against Al Ahli.
The national team has proved harder to pin down. Called into a U.S. camp in January 2024, he left before a friendly against Slovenia after a knee injury flared up, and he has yet to win a senior cap.
