About the player

Jens Martin Gammelby's career has taken more turns than most of his generation at Silkeborg IF. He came through the club's own academy, playing there from 2014 until 2018, before Brøndby paid a reported €1.5m to sign him on a five-year deal.

His time at Brøndby was defined as much by loans as by first-team football. He spent a season and a half out at Lyngby before a spell in Poland with Miedź Legnica. A move to Norway's HamKam followed in February 2023.

The return to Silkeborg came on 1 January 2024, back at the club where he started.

International recognition has stayed limited. Gammelby has not been capped by Denmark's senior side, with his representative football restricted to a single U20 appearance in 2014 and one U21 cap the following year. There was also an outing for a Danish league representative XI against Jordan in January 2018, in which he scored in a 3-2 defeat.
