About the player
Mads Larsen made his debut for Esbjerg fB's first team at 16, in a match against Brabrand IF, before going on to appear in the Danish Superliga for the club against Brøndby IF. He came through the Esbjerg academy, having signed his first youth contract there in September 2016, and went on to make 104 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals.
In July 2021, as captain of Esbjerg fB, Larsen signed an open letter expressing no confidence in head coach Peter Hyballa amid allegations of violent behaviour. He was subsequently stripped of the captaincy.
In January 2024, Larsen moved to Silkeborg IF for a fee of €600,000, signing a four-year contract. He has made 32 appearances for the club, scoring once. That same season, Silkeborg won the Danish Cup, beating AGF 1-0 in the final. Larsen has also won the Danish third division title during his career. At international youth level, he was capped once for Denmark's under-17 side.
In the current 2026/27 season, Larsen has featured in four Superliga matches for Silkeborg, totalling 360 minutes on the pitch.
