About the player
The move that shaped Jiménez's career took him from a club in its first top-flight season to one climbing towards it. He signed for UCV Moquegua on 27 February 2024, with no fee disclosed.
He arrived at a squad that had just come through the 2023 Copa Perú. Moquegua beat Ecosem de Pasco in the quarter-finals and lost 1-0 to ADA Jaén in the semi-finals — a defeat that still carried them up, since reaching the last four secured promotion to Liga 2 for 2024. Jiménez was part of that squad, and made his own debut for the club in April 2024, once the Liga 2 season was under way.
The club went up again from there, back to Liga 1, and the left-back has started regularly since. He renewed his contract for the 2025 season, in which Moquegua competed in Group B of Liga 2.
The route into the professional game was a long one. Before Tarma, Jiménez passed through a string of Peruvian academies — Universidad de San Martín, Academia Cosmos, AELU, ADES Ilo, Mariscal Nieto, Hijos del Altiplano and Credicoop San Cristóbal.
