Joan Cruz

Joan Cruz came through the academy at Colo-Colo, joining the club at the age of seven and working his way to a first professional contract in 2019. He left the club in 2022 after Colo-Colo won the Chilean championship, a title run he was part of before moving on.

The next chapter took him to Spain. In April 2023 he signed for Real Oviedo Vetusta as a free agent, but the move barely kept him on Spanish soil: he was immediately loaned back across the Atlantic to Everton de Viña del Mar, where he stayed through 2025 without ever featuring for the Oviedo affiliate side that held his registration.

In February 2026 he moved again, this time to Unión La Calera on loan, with his contract at the Chilean club running to the end of that year. He has featured for La Calera in the 2026 Chilean league campaign, including appearances against Deportes La Serena and Audax Italiano.

A left-footed midfielder who wears the number 20, Cruz's career so far has been defined less by a single defining moment than by movement — between countries, between loan spells, and between a parent club in Spain he signed for but has yet to actually play for.
