Joaquín Sosa

Enzo Joaquín Sosa Romañuk left Uruguay early, and by the time he made his first-team debut for Nacional in April 2021, the path already ran through loan spells that would define his career more than any single club shirt. He had already won the Uruguayan league title with Nacional's squad the year before he played a senior minute for them, and the following seasons became a study in movement: Rentistas, Liverpool Montevideo, then a move to Italy with Bologna in August 2022.

Italy did not settle him either. Dinamo Zagreb took him on loan for a single appearance, then came spells with CF Montréal in North America and Reggiana back in Italian football. The clearest mark he left in that stretch of shifting jerseys came in Colombia: on loan at Independiente Santa Fe in 2025, he was part of the squad that won the Primera A Apertura title, a rare trophy in a career otherwise built on short-term arrangements rather than long stays.

Now on loan at Colo-Colo in Chile, Sosa has found something closer to consistency, with eighteen appearances and a goal to his name in 2026. At 189cm and left-footed, he plays as a central defender, a profile shaped early: he came through Uruguay's youth ranks, scoring four goals in twenty-one games for the under-15s before continuing into the under-17 side. He has yet to add a senior cap for Uruguay to that record.

What stands out about Sosa's story so far is less any single moment than the sheer number of clubs he has represented before turning twenty-five. Fray Bentos to Montevideo to Bologna to Zagreb to Montréal to Reggio Emilia to Bogotá to Santiago — a career built on loans, with the Apertura medal in Colombia the closest thing to a defining achievement, and Colo-Colo now the clearest chance he has had to stay in one place long enough to build something.
