About the player
José Luis Granda Bravo was named in Peru's preliminary squad for the 2011 South American Under-20 Championship. That call-up remains the closest he has come to international football: he has never won an official cap for Peru, at youth or senior level.
He was a Sporting Cristal player at the time, having started his professional career there in 2010. He stayed until August 2012, when he moved to Real Garcilaso, and remained with the club until 2014. He made 20 appearances for UTC Cajamarca in 2014.
From there the moves came season by season. León de Huánuco in 2015, Sport Loreto in 2016, Deportivo Coopsol in 2017, then a first spell at Alfonso Ugarte in 2018. After a year at San Cristóbal in 2019 he returned to Alfonso Ugarte, and the 2020–2022 stay became his longest at any club since leaving Sporting Cristal. He signed for Alianza Huánuco in 2023 and moved on to Moquegua in 2024.
Granda is a right-footed defender who has spent his entire career inside the Peruvian game.
