Juan Felipe Aguirre

Juan Felipe Aguirre's career has taken him through five countries in a decade, and the trophies came only once he returned home. His path started with Itagüi Leones in Colombia, where a loan spell in 2016 turned into a permanent deal and, over three seasons, 76 appearances. From there the defender went abroad twice in succession: Mexico's Celaya between 2019 and 2021, then Montevideo Wanderers in Uruguay, where he made 56 appearances across a year and a half.

The turning point came with Atlético Nacional. Signed in 2023, Aguirre spent two seasons at the Medellín club and left with five trophies: a Colombian league title, two domestic cups and two Colombian Super Cups. It is by some distance the most decorated stretch of his career, and it came in the city where he was born.

That record made him a target abroad again. Athletico Paranaense signed him in July 2025 on a contract running through 2027, a move that reportedly came with compensation paid for the early termination of his Atlético Nacional deal. Since arriving in Brazil, Aguirre has settled into a regular role at the back, with 28 appearances and a goal to his name by December 2025. He wears number 33 for the club.
