Juan Pintado

Pintado's biggest year came in 2023, at Defensor Sporting. He helped the club win the Torneo Clausura and then lifted the Copa Uruguay, beating Montevideo City Torque on penalties in the final. That season put him in the AUF's team of the month twice and its team of the year, plus a spot in the Fútbolx100 symbolic XI.

He came up through Los Ceibos before joining Juventud Las Piedras, where he played and, in 2018, won the Uruguayan second division title. A year later the AUF gave him an individual award for logging more minutes than any other outfield player in the league.

Loan spells took him abroad early: a stint at Goiás in Brazil in 2020, then Godoy Cruz in Argentina in 2022, before he returned to Uruguay and Defensor Sporting.

Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata paid Juventud roughly 365,000 euros for him in January 2024, and he quickly became a fixture in the Argentine club's back line. A grade-two adductor strain sidelined him for three weeks that February, but by 2025 he was fit again, when he was named in the Torneo Clausura's team of the tournament.

His most recent move took him back to Uruguay on loan at Nacional, with a buy option, in January 2026. When that loan ended in July, he returned to Gimnasia only to be loaned out again straight away, this time to Unión in Argentina.

Internationally, his involvement has stayed at youth level: he debuted for Uruguay's under-20 side against Ecuador in October 2016, a match Uruguay won 2-0.
