Lautaro Pastren

Lautaro Pastrán left Mendoza for River Plate's academy as a teenager, one of the countless prospects who pass through the club's youth ranks. Argentina, however, was not where he built his career. He moved to Chile, joining Everton, and it was there that he took on the profile he still carries: a left-footed... no, a right-footed forward comfortable drifting to the left flank, someone the club saw enough in to hand the number 10 shirt.

His route into senior football is not entirely settled in the public record. One account places his professional debut on 5 May 2019, in a Copa Sudamericana tie against São Paulo; another has him only joining the Chilean club in 2022. Either way, Everton was the shirt that carried him into adulthood, and it was on the back of that spell that Belgrano brought him back to Argentina, signing him for a contract that has run from 2023 through to 2026.

Pastrán's dual nationality shaped part of that story. Through his maternal grandmother he holds Chilean citizenship alongside his Argentine passport, and it was under that second flag that he was called up to Chile's under-23 side, first by Nicolás Córdova and later by Eduardo Berizzo. A pre-Olympic qualifying injury kept him from ever making it onto the pitch for that side, and the senior team has not come calling.

Belgrano loaned him out twice in quick succession: first to Ecuador's LDU Quito in 2025, then, from 2026, to Colo-Colo. The numbers from that Chilean stint vary by source — one count has him at two appearances without a goal at the start of the campaign, another puts his loan total at 22 matches, three goals and three assists across just over a thousand minutes. What is consistent is the shirt number: at 24, still without a major trophy or individual award to his name, Pastrán wears the 10 for a club he joined on loan, still looking to turn a well-travelled career into a settled one.
