Guobo Liu

Guobo Liu came through the Shanghai SIPG academy before making the move that shaped his early career: a free transfer to Beijing Guoan in January 2018. He wasted little time making an impact, lifting the Chinese FA Cup with the club that same year. The success came on the back of a strong finish to his youth career, having already won the U18 National Games of China with Shanghai SIPG in 2017.

His performances for the youth ranks carried over to the international stage. Liu was capped ten times for China's U19 side in 2018 and took part in the AFC U-19 Championship that year, though he has not featured for the senior national team.

After his breakthrough at Beijing Guoan, Liu's career took a more itinerant turn. From 2023 he moved to Shandong Taishan, but spent much of the following seasons out on loan, turning out for Zibo Qisheng, Tai'an Tiankuang, Jiangxi Lushan and Ganzhou Ruishi in successive years. He now plays for Shenyang Urban on loan from Shandong Taishan, continuing a run of temporary moves that has taken him across several tiers of Chinese football since his Beijing Guoan days.

Liu is not the only footballer in his family: his brother, Liu Guobao, is also a professional player.
