About the player
Louis Breunig came through at his hometown club, signing his first professional contract with Würzburger Kickers in April 2021 and making 16 appearances in the 3. Liga before the club was relegated.
A move to 1. FC Nürnberg followed in 2022, though first-team chances were scarce — just one appearance for the club. A loan to SSV Jahn Regensburg in the 2023–2024 season helped the side up to the 2. Bundesliga, and Breunig made the switch permanent for the following campaign, signing a contract through to 2027. That spell turned into the busiest of his career, with 61 appearances for Regensburg.
In July 2025, Breunig joined Eintracht Braunschweig on a contract running to 2028, with an option for a further year, and has made 10 appearances for the club. He has since been loaned back to Würzburger Kickers for the 2026–2027 season, returning to the club where he started out.
Breunig has also had a taste of international football at youth level, picking up two caps for Germany's U20 side in friendlies against France in March 2024.
