About the player
The goal that took Mačva Šabac up came in the 66th minute against Voždovac on 3 May 2026, and it was Luka Pejović who scored it. A 1–0 win sealed the Prva Liga title and promotion to the SuperLiga for the club where he had grown up, in the city where he was born. He finished that season with five goals in 26 matches.
Pejović started in Mačva's youth ranks, where he was the leading scorer, and left before making his way in the senior side. The path out went through Provo and then to Radnički Sremska Mitrovica, which he joined in August 2019 and where he stayed until July 2022. None of those moves involved a fee; he changed clubs each time as a free agent, including the return to Šabac in July 2022.
The season before promotion had its own high point, and he watched part of it from the side. Mačva reached the quarter-finals of the Serbian Cup in 2024/25, knocking out Partizan along the way, but Pejović missed that tie through injury.
