M. Klausen

Two years in the 3. Liga at FC Erzgebirge Aue gave Mika Clausen the run of first-team football his earlier career had not: 60 league appearances, 65 competitive matches in all, six goals and nine assists. He arrived in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer with a contract to June 2026, and left when it expired, after the club were relegated.

The route there was unhurried. Clausen came through the youth ranks at SV Nettelnburg/Allermöhe in his native Hamburg until 2019, then spent two years in the youth setup at SV Eichede. His first senior football came in the 2021–22 season in the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein, the fifth tier: 16 league matches, four goals.

That was enough to earn a move to FC St. Pauli II in the summer of 2022, again on a free. Two seasons in the Regionalliga Nord brought 60 appearances, nine goals and ten assists — the one that took him from regional football to the professional game.

Clausen plays on the right of midfield or as a right winger, and is right-footed. He has not been capped by Germany at any level, and has no individual or team honours to his name.

Every professional move he has made — to St. Pauli II, to Aue, and now to SC Verl — has come without a fee. He signed at Verl in the summer of 2026 on terms running to June 2028.
