About the player
Mamadou Diagne arrived in Swedish football through Malmö FF's academy, joining in April 2022 and making his first-team debut that August in the Swedish Cup. In 2023, sent to third-tier BK Olympic, he finished the season as the club's top scorer among his teammates, a return of seven goals in 27 matches from midfield. A second loan followed in 2024, this time to Skövde AIK in Sweden's second tier, where he added four goals in 22 appearances.
Those loan spells built the case for a permanent move, and in December 2024 Diagne signed with Västerås SK on a contract running through 2028. The following year he played his part as the club won promotion to Allsvenskan, Sweden's top flight.
