About the player
Marcos Ortiz made his first-team debut for Belgrano de Córdoba on 10 August 2026, coming on in the second minute of a Liga Profesional fixture against Banfield, replacing Ramiro Hernández. Belgrano won 2-0, and the 17-year-old spent two minutes on the pitch — a brief introduction to senior football.
Born in Laboulaye, in the province of Córdoba, Ortiz built his path through Belgrano's academy before that August cameo. Called up to the Argentina under-17 squad under coach Diego Plancente, he was named in the 23-man list for the South American U-17 Championship, held in Paraguay from 3 to 19 April 2026.
At that tournament Ortiz was a fixture in the starting eleven, playing every group-stage match against Peru, Venezuela, Brazil and Bolivia before starting the final against Colombia on 19 April, which Argentina lost 4-0. He returned to the under-17 set-up in July 2026 for friendlies against Ecuador in Buenos Aires.
For now, his senior résumé consists of that single Liga Profesional appearance for Belgrano, set against a fuller picture of involvement with the national youth team.
