Marino Hinestroza Angulo

In November 2024 Marino Hinestroza scored against Millonarios and celebrated in a way DIMAYOR's disciplinary committee judged provocative. The panel handed him a two-match ban. It was the second time that year his conduct had shaped his career: a red card for Columbus Crew against LAFC in July 2024 was followed shortly afterwards by a loan move away from the club.

He began at Orsomarso, making his Categoría Primera B debut on 22 July 2018, and joined América de Cali the following summer. Between 2020 and 2022 he was on loan at Palmeiras in Brazil without appearing for the first team. He then refused to extend his contract in Cali. He left as a free agent for Pachuca in the summer of 2022 and won the Liga MX Apertura title that season.

Columbus Crew signed him in December 2023 on a deal to the end of 2026. The loan to Atlético Nacional in July 2024: the Categoría Primera A finalización title in 2024, the Copa Colombia the same year, and the Superliga in 2025. Columbus sold his rights to Nacional in January 2025 for around €1.4m. The CIES Football Observatory named him the best under-23 player in Colombia in 2025.

Néstor Lorenzo gave him his Colombia debut on 20 March 2025, in a 3-1 World Cup qualifying defeat to Brazil. A year later Vasco da Gama bought 80% of his economic rights for about $5m, with a contract running to December 2029. Hinestroza said afterwards he would have preferred Boca Juniors, but that Nacional's decision to accept the Vasco offer came first.
