About the player
Matheus França Silva came through the academy at Londrina, in the Brazilian state of Paraná, where he worked his way from the youth ranks into the first team before Flamengo bought half his economic rights in January 2019, with Londrina retaining the rest.
At Flamengo he spent a season in the youth setup before making his first-team debut in January 2020, and the club evidently rated him highly: his contract was renewed twice, first with a release clause set at €70 million, then extended to run through the end of 2026.
That valuation shaped his move to Corinthians in February 2024, which came together as a deal worth around €5 million including bonuses for 60% of his rights, split into staggered payments running into 2026. Flamengo took the larger share of the fee, with Londrina also receiving a payment from the transfer. Matheus França Silva signed with Corinthians through the end of 2028 and now wears the number 2 shirt as a right-back.
