Mihai Cătălin Bordeianu

Mihai Bordeianu returned to FC Botoșani in July 2025 as a free agent, when the midfielder from Flămânzi made his professional debut for the club. He spent his early years there in and out of the side, including a loan spell at FC Municipal Dorohoi, where he won the Liga III title in the 2013–14 season.

The move that changed his career came in January 2018, when CFR Cluj signed him from Botoșani for around €200,000. over the following years Bordeianu became a fixture of one of the most dominant sides in Romanian football, winning the league title five times, in 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20, 2020–21 and 2021–22, and lifting the Romanian Supercup twice, in 2018 and 2020.

In October 2020, Saudi club Al Qadsiah paid roughly €1.2 million to take him on loan, but the switch was brief. He was back at CFR Cluj by February 2021, and by that August the move had been made permanent. His international career also opened during this productive spell: he made his Romania debut on 8 September 2019, in a 1–0 win over Malta in Euro 2020 qualifying, and has since gone on to earn four caps.

After leaving CFR Cluj, Bordeianu's path grew less settled. He made two appearances for Universitatea Cluj in 2023 before joining ACSM Politehnica Iași, where he stayed until 2025. His return to Botoșani this summer brought him back to the club where his career started.
