Portland Thorns tied her down until 2029.
She had arrived at PSV Eindhoven three years earlier, in the summer of 2023, after two seasons at SC Heerenveen that brought 52 appearances and three goals.
In the second of those cup runs Nijstad finished as the competition's leading scorer.
Her first senior cap for the Netherlands came on 25 October 2024, against Indonesia. The match ended 15–0 and Nijstad scored twice. Before that she had come through the Dutch youth system at under-19, under-20 and under-23 level.
