About the player
Nathan de Medina came through the Anderlecht academy, reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League in both 2015 and 2016 before making two senior appearances for the club. A loan spell at OH Leuven followed, then a move to Royal Excel Mouscron, where he made close to forty appearances and scored three goals over three seasons. A free transfer took him to Germany in 2020, where he spent two years at Arminia Bielefeld and made 36 appearances, before a further move to Eintracht Braunschweig added 17 more.
His switch to FK Partizan on a free transfer in September 2023 turned into the most difficult period of his career. He never made a league appearance for the Belgrade club, featuring only in Champions League and Conference League qualifying matches, and left under the club's new management around six months later. De Medina has since described the spell as the worst chapter of his career, citing administrative problems, unpaid wages and a serious eye injury caused by his own dog.
After roughly six months without a club, he signed for Olympic Charleroi in January 2026, going on to make ten appearances and score once. He later joined Würzburger Kickers in July 2026, reuniting with Michael Schiele, a coach he had worked under before, in the German third division.
At international level, de Medina represented Belgium at under-19 level, winning three caps, and added a single appearance for the under-21s. He has Cape Verdean roots through his family background.
