About the player
Omir Fernandez built his path to professional football through the American college system, playing at Wake Forest University. In 2018 he was named to the NCAA First Team All-American, was recognised as the top attacking player in the ACC conference, and reached the semi-final stage of the MAC Hermann Trophy.
His best goalscoring return in MLS came in the 2023 season, when he reached six league goals — a personal high mark for his career so far. In April 2025, Portland Timbers signed him from Colorado Rapids for a fee of up to $250,000 in allocation money, split between a $200,000 guaranteed portion and a further $50,000 in add-ons.
At international level, Fernandez has been capped only at youth level for the United States. He has not featured for the senior national team.
