Pablo Ezequiel Calderón

Pablo Ezequiel Calderón is a central defender with an unusual family footnote: his twin brother, Franco Calderón, plays for Universidad de Chile.

Calderón came up through the academies of Charata Juniors and Cooperativista before joining Unión de Santa Fe's youth ranks in 2015. He made his first-team debut there in 2019, but loans defined that period more than first-team football: a spell at Costa Rica's A.D.R. Jicaral brought him 16 appearances in 2019–20, and when he returned to Unión he did not add to his first-team minutes.

He moved on in 2022 to Central Norte, where he played close to thirty matches and scored once, then signed for Deportivo Madryn at the end of 2023. In January 2025 he joined Ñublense on loan. His first season in Chile brought 20 league appearances plus seven in the Copa Chile, enough for the club to trigger his buy-out option on 20 December 2025 and turn the move into a permanent contract.

Through the opening months of the 2026 campaign he has made ten league appearances and scored once, along with two red cards. One of those dismissals, shown in a match against Universidad de Chile, was appealed by Ñublense, who argued there had been no contact to justify it.
