About the player
Some players are remembered for a tackle or a save.
He came up through the academy at Lanús, joining in 2015 and breaking into the first team by 2018. Over five seasons there he made 127 appearances, scored 17 goals and set up 14 more, though a cruciate ligament injury wiped out most of his 2022. He returned from it to have his best season in Argentina in 2023, with six goals and seven assists across competitions, without ever winning a major trophy at the club.
In January 2024, Seattle Sounders signed him, with Lanús retaining a 20% sell-on stake and de la Vega signing through 2027 with an option for 2028. He made an immediate mark: on his debut, against LAFC, he scored from the penalty spot.
The 2025 season was his most productive in MLS colours.
