About the player
After coming up through the Seattle Sounders' youth academy, where he won youth tournaments including the Generation adidas Cup, he moved into college soccer, first at Seattle University and later at the University of Washington.
Through those college years he kept playing for Ballard FC, an amateur side in USL League Two. In the 2023 final, with Ballard chasing both the Western Conference and the national title, Kingston snatched it at the death, scoring the winning goal in extra time and was named MVP of the match.
The title didn't translate straight into a Sounders contract. Kingston signed instead with Tacoma Defiance, Seattle's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, in March 2025, and spent the season working the channels there and a further goal in the US Open Cup. The move up to the first team came that October, when the Sounders signed him.
By August 2026 his role had grown: appearances in the league, appearances in the CONCACAF Champions Cup where he set up two goals, and further minutes in the Leagues Cup.
